We got her from the humane society in January, when she was just 2 months old. These pictures are from this summer. She's the sweetest dog ever.

Halloween!
Need a (very) last-minute costume idea?
My costume lacked the normal planning that I usually do, I normally hand-sew or otherwise hand-make my costumes, but this year, I didn't think much about it. I chose instead to put something together with just hair and makeup, and my closet. If this is you, give one of my ideas a try! I decided on a 1920's style costume, I know this is a very popular costume because of the new Great Gatsby movie. I practiced makeup and soft fingerwaves the other day, forgive the instagram photos.
I followed a youtube tutorial for the hair, just search 1920's hair, there are so many good ones.
My sister Chelsea did the most adorable diy costume! I just had to share. She was a sweet little deer. She told me she didn't really follow a tutorial, just eyeballed it from photos of others' fawn makeup, she's amazing.
Have fun tonight, Happy Halloween!

Work
I've been doing a lot of thinking today as well as a lot of working. I have been posting new listings for my Etsy, frostandfawn.etsy.com, and I'm definitely starting to realize, if I want my daily job to be making and selling my handmades, it's going to be very difficult. It's going to take hard work and a lot of persistence.
I've also been thinking a lot about what I want to sell and what kind of image I want to project. It's not that I didn't think about any of this before, but I definitely want to become more serious about this and put myself out there more.
I do also know that I am just starting out and it's unrealistic to think my shop will be successful overnight. I just have to keep working, little by little, and not compare myself to established shops and bloggers who have been doing this for years.
With that said, what is a blog post without pictures? I did add a brand new item to my shop, I also made an infinity scarf, which is not for sale.

I would like the world to know that I share a birthday with Snoop Dogg.
Just an instagram re-gram. Follow me! AshleyElizabethFay
I really love celebrating my birthday. This year I turned 25. I thought of a few different ways to write this post, reflecting on how crazy it is to turn 25, or doing one of those "25 goals before I turn 26", but I think I will keep it short instead. I don't have 25 goals, but there are a few things I would like to accomplish in the near future:
1. Stock my shop with lots of pretty things for the holiday season.
2. Become more comfortable with promoting myself
3. Get all A's this quarter (I'm on my way!)
4. Plan a trip to see my family early next year
5. Post here every day, or nearly every day :)
Most of my goals are for the short term, I'm not sure where this next year will take me, and I'm sure I will add to my goals, but for now I'm going to take it easy and enjoy celebrating!
Just a silly picture of me wearing a present my boyfriend got for me, a warm, fleece North Face!

Pumpkin Patch
The Pumpkin Patch. October would not be the same without a trip to go pick pumpkins. Last year I went on my birthday with my sisters and my boyfriend, this year my sisters live in Ireland, so my trip to the pumpkin patch was taken with friends. The weather was beautiful, which is amazing for October in Portland. I also couldn't pass on some delicious pumpkin butter and fresh apple cider.

Welcome!
My name is Ashley Fay. This blog has been a long time coming for me, and I'm so excited. Choosing a name was honestly the hardest part for me, and I finally chose a name that I love. I will be sharing bits of my life as well as the things I make for my shop. I'm still getting everything started, but I hope you will join me on my newest endeavors.
